As aTerminalTransload Operator, your primary responsibility is to safely unload liquid hazardous materials from railcars into tanker trailers and/or totes in a timely and efficient manner at our Bossier City, LA facility. This position reports to the Bossier Terminal Supervisor.
DURING A TYPICAL DAY
Check to ensure all railcars are safely positioned and secured. Ensure all equipment is in proper working condition and make ready for use upon arrival to facility. Perform pre and post offloading inspections on all railcars.
Instruct and guide truck drivers to the proper railcars for loading and properly set up trans-load equipment to affect the transfer of liquid, while following all safety protocols.
Maintain facility, facility equipment and tools through regular preventive maintenance.
Since we’re all about teamwork and getting the job done, your skill may be put to a lot of other uses!
STRENGTHS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
High school diploma or equivalent required.
You have a valid Driver’s License.
You have the ability to work outdoors in all climates for extended periods of time.
You have the ability to operate transload equipment, transfer pumps, basic hand tools and motorized ATV.
You have the ability to stand for long periods of time, climb up and down ladder rack frequently, squat and kneel many times throughout the day.
You have the ability to understand and follow all policies, procedures and safety rules as applicable to the operation, job function and equipment, including rules governing safety around railroad tracks and equipment.
You have the ability to work in a team environment with limited oversight.
You pay attention to the details but also see the “big picture”. For you, anything worth doing is worth doing right, every time.
You communicate effectively. You write well and speak articulately. You are comfortable communicating in person, in writing and over the phone.
You have a proven track record of exhibiting good problem-solving skills and being a dependable, self-motivated employee.
You have experience in transload operations or other transportation activities or industries, but not required.
Experience with hazardous materials is a plus.
