About Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Social Work or Associate Professor of Social

The Columbia School of Social Work (CSSW) invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (pre-tenure).

At CSSW, we seek to place racial and social justice at the center of all we do. We acknowledge the persistence and devastating consequences of oppressive policies and practices and seek to reverse the pernicious and pervasive effects of racism, sexism, and heterosexism in our society. In this search, we are recruiting faculty whose scholarship supports our school's commitment to addressing the systems of oppression that lead to diminished health among Black, Latinx, other people of color, and LGBTQplus communities. We seek to hire scholars whose work addresses the intersections of race, racism, and LGBTQplus issues. CSSW invites applicants who share the values of anti-racism and commitment to excellence in social work research, teaching, policy, and practice in areas related to the joint problems of racism, sexism, and heterosexism.

CSSW is now seeking to recruit scholars whose scholarship focuses on LGBTQplus health and racial justice. We are actively recruiting colleagues whose scholarship will help untangle the drivers of health inequities with a focus on understanding and addressing how social structures and systems (e.g., economic and educational policy, criminal justice policy, and health systems) impact the lives of LGBTQplus Black, Latinx, and other communities of color. In particular, we are interested in recruiting scholars whose work leverages an intersectional framework to gain insights into the interactions between racist, sexist, and heterosexist systems, and identify points of intervention to enhance equity, expand opportunities, and eradicate disparities in well-being.

For the past 125 years, CSSW has been a leader in educating and training professionals for careers in social work practice, policy, and administration. The School offers Master's and doctoral programs widely recognized for their excellence. In addition, we aim to maintain a work and intellectual environment in which all faculty, staff, and students can thrive.
