Northwest Tellers are important members of our retail network team because they often have the most interaction with our customers. This position provides an excellent customer service experience by welcoming customers, efficiently processing transactions, resolving problems, providing educational service, and uncovering financial needs for referral to the appropriate line of business.As their knowledge and expertise grow in the position, tellers serve as a role model and coach to other tellers to ensure that effective service, operations, and support of office sales initiatives exist within the office. This ensures that tellers are providing an excellent front-line customer experience by welcoming customers and providing efficient and educational service.
Essential Functions* Master all Essential Functions - Teller* Successful completion of Teller assessment required with management recommendation and approval and a working knowledge of Teller II duties* Achieve financial wellness activity goals, such as identifying referral opportunities* Actively engage in lobby leadership by greeting customers and taking ownership to resolve any customer/client issues and concerns* Assist customers and visitors with questions, problem resolution, and other needs* Proactively engage with customers to understand needs and inform them of product/service features and benefits. Refer customers to appropriate team member for complex requests or products/services* Protect the bank from unnecessary risk by following compliance, risk, and operational procedures* Work as a team with co-workers to complete daily tasks, demonstrating respect and professionalism, being prompt, and supporting management with special requests as needed* Serve as a role model in all areas of operations, for all teller teammates* Lead by example of promoting a sales and service culture within the branch and assist management with identifying referral opportunities from the teller line* Assist management when needed to ensure that teller line is running efficiently and that all tellers are adhering to bank policies and procedures with respect to money handling, cash levels, transaction processing and controls* Balance teller drawer daily and participate in dual control balancing of vault, ATM, and any other device, as needed* Responsible for weekly ATM balancing/maintenance functions, daily vault balancing, daily branch balancing procedures, weekly cash ordering and shipments, completion of the audit certification, participation in office meetings/huddles and operations meetings as needed* Assigned an elevated drawer limit, check signing authority, supervisor authority in teller system and supervise vault operations and procedures* Have good working knowledge of all office systems and software, perform maintenance and possess an in-depth knowledge of bank products, services, and digital offerings* Assist management with completion of the Audit Certification requirements and teller staff scheduling as needed and contribute to overall score card performance expectations* Complete educational training as assigned and self-educate using bank designed programs and applications* Work evening hours and weekends as scheduled, assigned, or necessary* Responsible for adherence to all security and dual control processes, daily branch tasks such as report review, scanning, follow up, etc., and branch opening and closing tasks as needed* Deliver on our North(west) star experience and champion our customer's financial wellness through delivery of exceptional customer experience - both in person, over the phone, and through email communications* Exceptional delivery of our 5 Culture Promises
