Ability to perform 15 lead EKG on patients on H4A and throughout hospital as needed in emergencies. A Place to Be Proud.Responsibilities1. Understand how to admit, transfer, discharge and suspend all patients to the central monitor system. Be able to demonstrate with understanding the importance of always saving data when transferring or discharging patients.2. Maintain appropriate heart rhythm tracing.3. Recognizes normal heart rhythm, artifact, and life threatening heart rhythms.4. Respond to all monitor alarms, report heart rhythm changes to RN or MD promptly.5. Clean, maintain, and inventory all equipment associated with cardiac monitors. Clean, maintain, and inventory other equipment as assigned.6. Precepts new employees, ability to educate other employees on correct usage of both telemetry and bedside monitors.QualificationsKNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED1. High School graduate or equivalent.2. Previous health care experience as a Nursing Assistant, Unit Coordinator, Medical Assistant, nursing student, EMT, Medic or experience with cardiology patients.3. Basic computer skills required.4. Excellent communication and customer service skills.5. Age appropriate care and service to pediatric patients of all ages and selected adults.6. Neat appearance, good grooming, and professional manner.7. Completion of orientation classes offered by Nationwide Children's Hospital, the Patient Care Services Division and the unit.8.
