Answering awide variety of questions, assisting patrons with the public computers,and general support for the library as a whole are expected from thisposition. The Technology Center Assistant is the first point of contactfor the librarys Technology Center and helps guide patrons in the rightdirection in regards to Technology and Library resources. In addition,this position will conduct recurring duties to ensure library digitalresources and equipment are up to date. Reports To: Head of Technology
Hours/Schedule: Full Time 40 hours per week
Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Regular weekly schedule may be adjusted to compensate for working aweekend. Schedules are adjusted as needed for the Library. Above is ananticipated schedule. This is subject to change based upon servicelevels.
Starting Pay: \$15.68 an hour; \$32,614.40 annually
Full Pay Range: \$15.68-20.01/hourly; \$32,614.40 - \$41,600.00/annually
40 hours paid time off after 6 months of service; 80 hours (2 weeks)after 1 year; 120 hours (3 weeks) after 5 years; 160 hours (4 weeks)after 10 years
16 hours (2 days) personal time after 1 year
10.5 paid holidays a year and 2 floating holidays
sick leave, 8 hours accrued a month for full-time staff

Minimum Education: High School Degree required

Duties & Responsibilities
The Technology Assistant must ....
be knowledgeable about the various technologies that the libraryprovides and how to use them.
conduct routine maintenance of digital content such as collection lists,website accuracy and digital catalog additions.
assist in updates for patron PCs.
run monthly statistics, evaluate accuracy, and insert into necessarydata sheets.
update and monitor gaming system settings.
understand the importance of documentation and organization.
show an aptitude for troubleshooting technical issues while remainingcalm and accessible.
have a willingness to learn new systems/new technology as the field isconstantly changing.
accept direction, projects and tasks from all staff with a positiveattitude.
be organized in their project management. From time to time, projectsare given to this position and they will need to be completed in atimely manner with minimal errors.
support the librarys mission and provide exceptional customer service,whether to patrons or co-workers.
under general guidance, have the ability to work honestly andindependently.
be reliable. Work scheduled hours, show up ready to work on time and usebreaks appropriately.
maintain a general knowledge of programs and services offered by thewider library.
communicate clearly, accurately and in a timely manner with a diverseset of patrons and co-workers.
be willing to help in any area of the library as needed.
be able to enforce library policy and follow procedures in a variety ofsituations, including high-stress or confrontational interactions.

Requirements
Valid Drivers License.

Basic keyboarding skills.
The ability to work with a variety of technology equipment andapplications including, but not limited to, word documents,spreadsheets, internet browsers, email, and Google Drive.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
Light to moderate physical work
Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 40 pounds with or withoutassistance.
Frequent lifting, carrying, standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs,twisting, reaching, pulling, and pushing.
Speech and hearing abilities to maintain communication with patrons andco-workers.

Work is primarily indoors, with some outdoor work for book drop pickupsand other Library event assistance.
