  Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business Digital Solutions department seeks a Computer Support Analyst 2 to focus on purchasing and logistics coordination and work as the Technology Logistics Coordinator. The Technology Logistics Coordinator will handle the purchase, distribution, and tracking of computing equipment, related accessories, software, and phones. We support a distributed workforce of staff, faculty, postdocs, research fellows and students, who work on-site, hybrid, and fully remote roles. This Technology Logistics Coordinator will need to be highly organized, and detail oriented to track equipment throughout its life cycle (new requests, upgrades and the return, repurposing, and salvaging of previously issued items), on occasion research and process contracts for unique software (that which is not offered through the University Software team), and act as the department property administrator (DPA) for capital asset purposes. There may also be infrequent event coordination responsibilities and some department supplies procurement. The Technology Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for handling all tasks in alignment with the GSB and University’s policies. The candidate will have a good understanding of the basic technology components and be adept at juggling multiple high priority needs simultaneously. The Technology Logistics Coordinator must be comfortable with communicating with all GSB affiliates over email, phone, chat, and in person.

  In this role, you will have the opportunity to get to know people across the GSB and the University. You will work closely with staff, both those who are highly technical and those who are not, to ensure the technology provided enables them to be successful. Your days will be varied as you prioritize your work to ensure deadlines are met. You will help set experience through clear and direct communications with clients. You will act as part of a larger team, who also support faculty, postdocs, research fellows, and affiliates. You’ll answer technical and administrative questions as you work to resolve requests and answer questions. You’ll become familiar with the University IT as you work with them to order and have installed new servers, with the Finance Department at the GSB and at the University level as you place orders, with the University Software Office as you procure software, and with the Property Office and the Surplus Office as you purchase and excess equipment. Each day is different and will bring with it its own challenges and opportunities.

  Please note that this position is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days onsite per week.

  Your primary responsibilities include:

  Diagnose and resolve end-user problems; respond to escalated issues from clients and other support teams; perform triage, provide remote problem resolution, when possible, refer problems to associated groups.

  Research, recommend and implement hardware and software purchases and configurations to meet client needs and ensure compatibility with university systems and architecture.

  Primary liaison with internal and external vendors, responsible for obtaining quotes, purchasing, licensing, returns, and billing issues.

  Work with University offices to order, change, and manage repair of mobile, physical, and softphones.

  Work closely with end-users and the University property management office to assist with capital or special equipment requests and vendor selection.

  Research, recommend and implement approved standards used throughout the unit and contribute to the development of the client support strategy.

  Manage the Capital Equipment Inventory to ensure compliance with University guidelines.

  Investigate and test new tools, systems, techniques, and software products.

  Provide technical guidance and training; may guide other staff.

  Work on projects requiring expertise and creativity in analysis and deployment of technology.

  Create reports and spreadsheets which may utilize specialized software and systems. Make recommendations based on reports.

  Process routine financial transactions, which may include researching and resolving discrepancies.

  To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  Two-year college degree and two or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  Proficient computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email and chat applications.

  Demonstrated success in following through and completing routine tasks that require attention to detail.

  Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  Proficient in the use of Google Docs, Sheets, Microsoft Excel or similar tools.

  Ability to apply diagnostic techniques for problem troubleshooting.

  Ability to prioritize and multitask.

  Resourcefulness is key and the ability to think outside the box, while adhering to policy.

  Comfort with technology and data management.

  In addition, preferred requirements include:

  Ability to keep track of different standards and offerings to clients based on their affiliation.

  Familiarity with the University’s purchasing system, including contracts, and Sunflower systems would be a plus.

  The expected pay range for this position is $81,000 - $112,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
