The Mission of SFDPH is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans. SFDPH strives to achieve its mission through the work of two main Divisions - the San Francisco Health Network and Population Health.
The San Francisco Health Network is the City's only complete system of care and has locations throughout the City, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, and over 15 primary care health centers.
Duties Include
Manage the development and implementation of complex IT projects in a healthcare setting. Work closely with business and IT teams to plan, coordinate, integrate, test, implement and close projects. Work on go-live coordination and transition to operations.
Collaborate with clinical and/or functional business stakeholders and Facilities teams to define scope of IT projects. Put together budgets. Identify impact on various IT groups and coordinate activities to successfully implement infrastructure projects.
Follow the department’s project management methodology and reporting requirements. Develop project schedules and other artifacts using the department’s project management tools and methods.
Identify project issues/risks and communicate appropriately to sponsors. Implement corrective measures as necessary.
Document business workflows and provide support for organizational change management efforts.
Manage customer relations by fostering effective relationships with business users. Provide consulting services to stakeholders as needed.
Assist in prioritization of projects by researching client requests and accurately estimating project effort.
Demonstrate strategic thinking and problem solving to diagnose project problems and identify possible solutions. Document pros and cons of proposed solutions.
Direct and supervise the work of subordinate staff and/or project team members. Guide staff and manage performance.
Develop vendor contracts by working on Requests for Proposals (RFPs), vendor selection, and preparation of statements of work (SOWs). Monitor vendor performance.
Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Desirable Qualifications
PMP, Lean, Scrum, ITIL certification
Five of experience implementing software projects in healthcare settings
Three years of experience managing Oracle Peoplesoft Procure-to-Pay projects
Experience managing integration of Oracle Peoplesoft inventory management functions with Epic electronic health record

Any overtime hours that you work above 40 hours a week are not included in the calculation to determine full-time employment.
**Additional experience as described above may substitute for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of 2 years). One year is equivalent to 30 semester units/45 quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester/15 quarter units in Computer Science or a closely related field.
