　　The Molecular Microbiology department at the Center for Esoteric Testing offers testing for infectious diseases. Molecular methods specifically detect nucleic acids from infectious organisms and may provide enhanced sensitivity and improved turnaround time over conventional techniques.

　　The schedule for this position will be: 3rd shift, Monday-Thursday 4:00am-2:30pm. This position is eligible for a 15% shift differential due to 3rd shift hours.

　　Job Duties/Responsibilities:

　　Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria

　　Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures

　　Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality

　　Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls

　　Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care

　　Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures

　　Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary

　　Requirements:

　　Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or a related science

　　No previous clinical diagnostic testing experience is required at the Tech Trainee level

　　Ability to work independently and within a team environment

　　High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

　　Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
