　　Position Summary

　　Dr. Sally Amundson's laboratory at the Center for Radiological Research at Columbia University is looking for a technician B to work in close collaboration with scientists using gene-expression-based approaches to understand the mechanistic basis of radiation response. The job responsibilities will include the following:

　　Responsibilities

　　Training and performing work with animal models and human tissuePerforming real-time PCR and other basic molecular biology techniques and related analysis methods.Developing skill sets in RNAseq and subsequent data analysis.Maintaining and sharing records, completing scientific and technical tasks in a timely fashion and helping to maintain a smoothly functioning laboratory.Performing related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requestedWe are part of a large team, under the Center for High Throughput Minimally Invasive Radiation Biodosimetry at Columbia University Medical Center consisting of biologists, physicists, and statisticians.

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Must have general knowledge of molecular and cellular biology.Preferred Qualifications

　　Some laboratory experience is preferred, especially familiarity with RNA techniques and qRT-PCR.
