Description:

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Organizes material and completes writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology.
Research products by interaction with subject matter experts, studying the product specifications, using prototype hardware and engineering drawings.
Works with technical experts to establish technical specifications and determine end item development.
Integrate relevant information into well written physical descriptions, controls and indicators and removal and replacement procedures with amplifying graphics.
Selects drawings, sketches, diagrams, charts and photographs equipment to illustrate material.
Ability to use essential authoring tools as required for the position. This includes PTC’s Arbortext and Creo (Windchill). Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suit. Arbortext and Illustrator are required, the remaining could be learned on the job.
Writes for re-use using XML authoring system in an S1000D environment.
Edits, standardizes, and makes changes to material prepared by other writers.
Maintains the library of information as products evolve.
Knowledgeable and experienced with the creation of new procedures, outline structures, and manual updates.
Ability to pitch in when necessary with tasking that may be outside the job description listed above.
Maintains configuration control of all documents
Ability to work with multiple share point sites
Self-develop and maintain skills required to perform the above activities.

Required
B.S. / B.A. degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience in Engineering, Science or a related academic field
1+ years of related experience with XML, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat experience and Microsoft Office suite of products (one of)
Desired
Job-related experience with Interactive Electronic Technical Manual and related fields.
XML/S1000D authoring tool experience in a government related field
