Description:

　　Our client is seeking an experienced Chemist from the coatings industry that is adept at troubleshooting and maintaining laboratory equipment, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring smooth operations for new and existing issues. Seeking a candidate that is open to traveling to customer sites to address technical issues and provide on-site assistance.

　　JOB DUTIES

　　• Develop an understanding of product knowledge and solutions through research and testing.

　　• Demonstrate comprehensive product knowledge to support our customers in personalizing our service to their practice’s needs.

　　• Responsible for managing customer cases and ensuring timely resolution of client concerns.

　　• Must be able to effectively problem solve intense issues while utilizing tools for solutions and communicating to the client the steps taken to obtain the resolution.

　　• Effectively train new and current customers in the use and implementation of new and existing products.

　　• Ensure an efficient resolution by researching and carefully documenting all work completed for our customers.

　　• Provide technical service support to customers and conduct field trials of new and/or modified products.

　　• Deliver technical knowledge and expertise to support customer needs.

　　• Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.

　　• Draft reports to document experimental results.

　　• Provide customer feedback of product to chemists for improvement.

　　• Must be able to recommend new products and services, maintenance of environmental standards, and other work involving experimental, theoretical, or practical application of chemistry and related sciences.

　　• Provide bilingual technical support via phone and email, addressing customer inquiries, troubleshooting issues remotely and in person.

　　Additional Skills & Qualifications:

　　1st shift (some flexibility on time) 8:30am-5pm or 9-5:30pm

　　Traveling initially around 20% of the time, but could ramp up to closer to 50-60% of the time. One off international travel for additional product training may be requested.

　　Training period can vary in timeline based on how quickly the candidate is picking up the products and processes. Will be fully trained before ever going to a client site individually.

　　QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

　　• 2 years’ experience in wood coatings preferred.

　　• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field

　　• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

　　• Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and procedures.

　　• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

　　• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

　　• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

　　• Willingness to travel to customer sites for on-site support.

　　• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google suite and laboratory information management systems (LIMS)

　　• A moderate amount of overnight travel can be expected for this position (65%). Both domestic and international travel will be required
