JOB DESCRIPTION:Supervise all Helpdesk functions. This individual will serve both as the manager of the 2 persons help desk and the "hands-on" senior desktop technician for NKI 400 user network.JOB DUTIES:Organizing and managing helpdesk resources.Senior level hands-on desktop support and troubleshooting management of over 400 user accounts, including new Active Directory network account creation.Resetting of passwords, and removal of aged accounts.Logging calls received via email and phone.Assigning problem tickets to staff.Configuration and distribution of all personnel computers.Hardware problem diagnosis and resolution (minor hardware fixes and upgrades are performed inhouse)Pre-sales configuration of new PC's.Maintaining accurate inventory of all equipment and monitoring security and acceptable use policy compliance.Familiarity with Microsoft Authenticator, DUO Multi-Factor Authentication, Office 365, Cisco AnyConnect VPN Setups, Network Printers, Adobe online licensing, Prism GraphPad online licensing, SPSS installations, SAS Software installations.Ability to review and write Standard Operating Procedures as they pertain to desktop security.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:This position requires a bachelor's degree or an associate degree and two years' experience in desktop support. Candidates must possess strong supervisory skills and judgement. Must be able to quickly diagnose problems and know when to escalate them and to whom. Expertise and proven success in supporting and troubleshooting at a minimum Windows, Microsoft Office, Chrome, Edge, and Mozilla Internet browsers. Other software at NKI include Trellix End Point Software and ePolicy Orchestrator, Web filtering software, SPSS, SAS and Cisco VPN, Macintosh and/or Linux experience is a plus. Excellent diagnosis and problem-solving skills in the areas of operating systems and general software, hardware, and virus/malware removal. Skills in configuring and troubleshooting peripheral devices such as printers and scanners. The successful candidate will have a history of working independently while also interacting well with management and senior level staff in a dynamic, busy and technically diverse environment.Background Investigation/Justice Center Review Requirements:Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.
