  DescriptionNSF is looking for a Technical Reviewer for our Municipal Water group. This Technical Reviewer will review products contact with drinking water to determine compliance with ANSI/NSF/CAN Standard 61 for health effects.  Products range from simple materials to complex drinking water treatment devices. Reviews involve understanding the product construction and material chemistry, determining testing requirements, designing test plans, and evaluating laboratory results.  The Technical Reviewer works closely with NSF staff across multiple departments to provide quality scientific results in support of the NSF Mission.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:Specify testing, sampling, evaluation, and documentation requirements for product certification as required by Standard 61-Drinking Water SystemComponents, certification policies, and sound scientific principles.Perform routine and complex product design and formulation reviews in support of product certification testing.Evaluate changes to certified products and determine material extraction testing requirements.Design test plans that direct laboratory testing in order to determine compliance to health effects requirements of applicable standard.Review and determine compliance of test results.Make and document technical decisions based on standard requirements, data analysis, and sound scientific principles.Evaluate root cause, corrective action, and preventative action in order to resolve product non-compliances.QualificationsBachelor's degree in natural or physical sciences, or engineering.High level of mechanical and technical aptitude.Demonstrated experience in problem solving and analytical thinking.College-level coursework in inorganic and organic chemistry.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent time management, organizational skills and attention to detail.PreferredMaster's degree in natural or physical sciences, environmental health, or engineeringTwo or more years of related experience.Experience in conducting and/or evaluating engineering assessments.Experience in conducting and/or evaluating chemistry studies.Experience in conducting and/or evaluating toxicology studies.
