The Engineering Technical Leader demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. This is a leadership position that integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization and requires long-term planning. This role contributes to the overall strategy of the business and manages complex issues supporting design of the BWRX-300 Nuclear Island Mechanical Systems.
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a global, cross-business team responsible for GEH - Nuclear "Plant Systems Engineering" organization.
Provide leadership, resources and training needed to ensure high quality deliverables in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures and regulatory agency guidelines.
Lead activities which include:
The delivery of cohesive, high quality technical solutions to customers of the nuclear fuel, nuclear services and new plants businesses in an on-time manner.
The development, maintenance, application and improvement of design and analysis processes (including procedures).
The support of business growth initiatives, including new product and services introductions, and the development of innovative technical solutions for existing and new plants by staying current in industry trends and partnering with stakeholders leveraging industry relationships.
The development of technical talent and technical depth within the organization by creating a positive learning environment that utilizes coaching and mentoring as examples. Technical fields in this organization include: BWR NSSS plant mechanical systems for the existing BWR fleet and advanced small modular BWR reactor system design (BWRX-300).
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering, or similar engineering discipline.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a business and/or technical environment.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a team leader and/or manager.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with customers.
Eligibility Requirements
Work onsite 2 days a week in MarkhamDesired Qualifications:
Actual leadership experience and working knowledge in design, plant systems, and/or operational experience at one or more nuclear power plants or in a new plant design.
MS Engineering degree.
Proven ability to create real and positive change, think creatively and respond rapidly to changing priorities and customer needs.
Extensive technical knowledge of at least one of the technical fields within the organization.
Open communication style and proven ability to develop team relationships, including global teams.
Demonstrated business knowledge with cross-functional awareness.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Knowledge of GEH's products, business processes, customers and competitive environment.
Demonstrated ability to establish a vision and direction for a new organization.
Demonstrated ability to manage a large, matrixed team with multiple demands and priorities.
Demonstrated project management skills, including cost and schedule control.
Nuclear Plant Operations experience.
