  Job ID348893 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyEducation-General Full/Part TimePart-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code9754 Employee ClassAcad Prof and Admin About the Job Position Overview The Dual Language and Immersion Licensure program in the Multiple Pathways to Teaching (MPT) office, College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) has openings for temporary, non-tenured, Academic Professional and Administrative (P&A) positions, paid on a per course basis, and appointed as Teaching Specialist/Lecturer. These appointments are typically arranged semester by semester or summer and employment is contingent upon the course meeting its enrollment target. Applications are reviewed as openings occur, and individual applicants are invited to interview when their skills or areas of expertise match an opening. This posting is designed to establish a pool of instructors. Applications will not be acknowledged, but will be reviewed when such openings occur throughout the academic year. Job Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching graduate level courses for students pursuing initial licensure, and clinical supervision. We seek to hire individuals who are interested in teaching and/or supporting clinical supervision throughout the program. The syllabi have already been developed and we require that instructors use these as they are part of an overall program design. Clinical Supervision (90%) Observe and supervise students in the program Provide teacher candidate weekly feedback, mentorship, and support Field Experience occurs in year one of two for teacher candidates and is 100 hours for the candidate; supervision is for 10 hours per teacher candidate over the course of two semesters Student Teaching occurs in year two of two; supervision is for 2 hours per week during the student teaching semester. Complete at least 4 required observations and observation documentation for Student Teaching Complete and document at least 3 triad meetings during Student Teaching Complete required teacher candidate evaluations Supervision Preparation (10%) Complete required supervisor orientation modules on Canvas Meet with the program coordinator and director prior to beginning the course Qualifications Required Qualifications Master's degree or higher in related field of study Related experiences either as a teacher of record (3 or more years as a professionally licensed teacher of record aligned to the position's licensure area field or scope) or experience in teacher evaluation as a current/former E-12 administrator. Preferred Qualifications Experience in dual language, immersion, or bilingual education Experience in equity-based pedagogy and advocacy Earned Ph.D. in an education field Experience teacher candidates and/or new teachers Demonstrated leadership in education Evidence of being able to work within a team Evidence of organizational ability, including the ability to coordinate multiple tasks Excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrated experience with or interest in alternative routes to licensure Evidence of the capacity to be a problem solver *Employees with an M.A. will be hired as a Teaching Specialist.
