About This Role:
Kansas State University Olathe(http://olathe.k-state.edu)invites applications and nominations for a new, 12-month, non-tenuretrack, Teaching Assistant or Associate Professor in EngineeringTechnology (commensurate with experience). This leadership positionrequires a visionary individual with an understanding of engineeringtechnology disciplines, a track record of curriculum development, and apassion for guiding both students and faculty members toward academicand professional success. This position will have a primary focus onmeeting the needs of regional manufacturers through targeted programofferings and strategic collaborations.
Responsibilities:
Program Development and Enhancement: Drive the continuousimprovement of the Engineering Technology program with a clear focuson addressing the evolving needs of regional manufacturers. Shapethe direction, curricula, and offerings to align with industrydemands and emerging technological trends. Develop new courses andpathways that equip students with the skills sought bymanufacturers.{=html}<>1. Curriculum Design and Industry Alignment: Collaborate with department faculty and industry experts to design curriculum components that directly address the requirements of regional manufacturers. Ensure program offerings are closely aligned with industry standards, processes, and technologies.
{=html}<>1. Faculty Leadership and Development: Provide mentorship and support to faculty members within the Engineering Technology program. Foster a culture of teaching excellence and scholarly engagement. Encourage professional development opportunities that enhance industry-relevant expertise.
{=html}<>1. Student Success: Implement strategies to enhance student recruitment, retention, and engagement withing the Engineering Technology program. Forge strong connections between students and local manufacturers through internships, capstone projects, and industry-sponsored initiatives.
{=html}<>1. Industry Engagement and Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain robust partnerships with regional manufacturers, industry associations, and professional organizations. Collaborate on workforce development initiatives, training programs, and applied projects that address real-world challenges.

Community College Collaboration: Establish and nurture pathways for students transferring from local community colleges, ensuring that the curriculum aligns seamlessly with both institutions. Collaborate on curriculum articulation, credit transfer mechanisms, and streamlined education experiences.
{=html}<>1. Accreditation and Assessment: Collaborate with department faculty to maintain ABET accreditation while incorporating industry-specific performance metrics. Develop assessment methods that measure graduates\' preparedness for careers in regional manufacturing.
