LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES with initial assignment in component districts throughout Jefferson CountyRESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Assist with instruction and assessment under direction of the teacher Assist with preparing lessons and materials Employ effective management practices to support diverse student management needs and an environment conducive to learning Engage in continuing professional staff development activitiesQUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess: NYS Teacher Assistant Certification Basic requirements: high school diploma or GED, Child Abuse workshop, School Violence workshop, fingerprinting clearance through NYSED, and Assessment of Teacher Assistant Skills Test (ATAS) Proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics Knowledge of curriculum content and accepted methods of instruction Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team Excellent written and oral communication skillsCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $21,000 - $21,063. Commensurate with certification/experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the CSEA.
