Candidates who meet these additional skills are strongly encouraged to apply:Proficient in Microsoft, Excel, Outlook.Able to handle multitasking for large organizations.Timekeeping skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsProblem solver with good conflict management skillsWHAT YOU WILL DOAs a part of the divisions Program Support and Environmental Assistance team, our Administrative Assistant V will play a key role in achieving TCEQs mission. You would use your skills and experience to:Provide administrative support for management and staff including scheduling meetings and providing meeting notes. Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate staff. Maintain section telephone list and provide updates for agency telephone listingsPrepare and submit travel authorizations, vouchers, and reconcile travel expenditures. Assist staff with preparing travel authorizations and travel reimbursement.Develop, coordinate, and maintain internal and external databases, recordkeeping, and filing systems. Prepare program correspondence, reports and documentsPerform other support functions including making program packets, mailing outreach materials, sending supplies to matrix staff, etcProvide support for section and division timekeeping, which includes reviewing timesheets for accuracy, resolving issues, entering information into agency timekeeping system, maintaining files, submitting timesheets to Financial Administration, and attending training for timekeepersDevelop administrative policies and procedures, as requiredQualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSGraduation from a standard senior high school or its equivalent plus five years of fulltime experience providing administrative support in an office setting.Fifteen semester hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each six months of the required experience with a maximum substitution of four years.ORTwo years as an Administrative Assistant IV at TCEQ.TRANSCRIPTS / COLLEGE HOURS OR COURSE WORKSee instructionson how to attach documents.
