One of our clients in the Walnut Creek area is looking for a Public Tax Accountant for a contract to permanent placement opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and complete individual 1040 tax forms efficiently

• Utilize tax software such as Drake Software - Tax Solution, Drake Tax Software, and CCH Prosystem

• Execute data entry tasks to maintain accurate customer records

• Resolve customer inquiries regarding their tax preparations and filings

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on their tax status

• Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of each customer's tax information

• Stay updated with current tax laws and regulations to provide accurate advice to customers

• Assist customers in understanding and meeting their tax obligations

• Maintain a high level of professionalism and compliance in all interactions

• Continually develop skills and knowledge in tax preparation through training and research.

Requirements • Proficiency in E1040, Tax - Individual, Tax Preparer, Drake Software - Tax Solution, Drake Tax Software, CCH Prosystem

• Strong data entry skills

• Experience in preparing individual and business tax returns

• Familiarity with tax laws and regulations

• Ability to review financial records, expenses, and income to determine forms needed to prepare returns

• Demonstrated ability to advise clients in tax preparation and to answer any questions they may have

• Proven ability to identify potential tax credits and liabilities

• Capability to ensure that returns are filed by the defined deadlines

• Ability to complete tax forms in accordance with policies and in compliance with legislation and regulations

• Ability to maintain and update the tax preparation software as required

• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills
