Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses. The Tax Preparer will work closely with clients to gather necessary financial information, analyze and verify data, and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of tax laws, and excellent communication abilities.
Responsibilities:
Communicate effectively with clients to collect necessary financial information and documentation.
Address client inquiries and provide clear explanations regarding tax-related issues.
Review and analyze financial records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Identify potential deductions, credits, and other tax-saving opportunities.
Prepare and complete accurate individual and business tax returns within specified deadlines.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Maintain organized and detailed records of client information and tax returns.
Ensure confidentiality and security of client data.
Conduct thorough reviews of prepared tax returns to identify and correct errors.
Implement best practices to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the tax preparation process.
Stay informed about updates in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification (CPA, EA, or similar) is preferred.
Proven experience as a Tax Preparer, preferably in a public accounting firm or tax advisory service.
Familiarity with tax software and proficiency in using relevant accounting tools.
Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficient in using tax preparation software and MS Office applications.
Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Ability to keep abreast of changes in tax laws and apply them appropriately.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in handling sensitive financial information.
