Position Overview: This positionperforms tax planning and preparation services for clients. Manages thedelivery of tax and accounting products and services. Promotes andmarkets tax and accounting products and services to clients and eligibleprospects. Essential Functions: * Performs tax projections and workswith clients to develop strategic tax plans in accordance with Compeerpolicies and procedures and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) coderequirements. * Provides tax and accounting consulting services on awide range of issues affecting clients. * Prepares income tax returnsfor individual, partnership and corporate clients. * Recognizes andmatches Compeer products based on client needs. * Prepares payroll tax,1099, W2 and related forms and reports. * Collects on delinquent clientaccounts. * Establishes and maintains strong client relationships. *Maintains trial balance, general ledger and fixed asset schedules forinternal and non-accounting clients. * Assists clients with questionsregarding accounting processes, records and outcomes using QuickBooksSoftware. * Provides technical tax and accounting expertise to teammembers and clients when questions arise. * Advises local peer groupmembers on tax law changes and the affects to client businesses. *Participates in the development and presentation of ongoing educationalprograms for Compeer team members and clients regarding tax andaccounting services. * Assists Compeer team members on client visitsand at agriculture or community events to develop knowledge in allCompeer products and services. Minimum Qualifications & RequiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Bachelor\'s degree in accounting orrelated field or an equivalent combination of education and experiencesufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. * 3+ years ofexperience in tax planning and preparation. * Certified PublicAccountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification required. *Ability to earn certification by passing the Farm Credit Services TaxExam within two attempts. * Knowledge of federal and state laws,regulations and compliance requirements specific to the financialindustry and Farm Credit. * Ability to communicate Compeer\'s \"valueadded\" business and financial concepts to attract new prospects. *Solid knowledge of tax and accounting products and services. * Solidknowledge of tax and accounting policies and procedures. * Experiencein planning and preparation of farm taxes preferred. * Listening,written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate atall levels of the organization. * Exercises a high level of ethical andprofessional judgement. * Skill in developing and maintaininginterpersonal relationships. * Ability to give presentations one-on-oneor to a group. * High level of integrity. * Problem solving, decisionmaking and organizational skills. * Computer skills, including MSOffice applications and tax and accounting software. * Analyticalskills with attention to detail. * Ability to work evenings andweekends from November to May in order to meet deadlines and clientexpectations. * Ability to grow client portfolio. * Valid driver\'slicense.
