The Tax Accountant is responsible for accurate and timely preparation and filing of various business tax returns including sales & use, gross receipts, business licenses, unclaimed property and other similar type taxes in states and local jurisdictions. The Tax Accountant reports to the Tax Manager.

　　Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

　　Prepares work papers and calculates tax liabilities

　　Prepares and timely files sales and use tax and/or business license applications and renewals

　　Prepares and timely files unclaimed property returns and due diligence/search letters

　　Responds to unclaimed property claimants timely and professionally

　　Prepares check/EFT requests for tax payments

　　Keeps current with tax legislation and assesses applicability

　　Under supervision, responds to and resolves OpCo (e.g. internal company) inquiries

　　Under supervision, responds to and resolves tax jurisdiction notices and/or inquiries

　　Reconciles general ledger accounts

　　Assists with audits, as needed

　　Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

　　Minimum Requirements:

　　Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in Accounting, Finance or Tax

　　1 year of corporate experience is preferred but not required

　　Candidate should have developing interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and desire to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment

　　Detail oriented, organized, and able to multi-task and meet deadlines

　　Proficiency in the English language is required

　　Willingness to take ownership of work

　　Enjoys collaborating in a team environment

　　Some experience in Excel, Word, Outlook
