  In this role, you will be responsible for the collaboration and interactions in the review of specific customer application(s) using electric technologies for the Low and Medium Voltage power systems for Halliburton’s Production Enhancement Product Service Line (PSL). You will support the delivery/commissioning of these state-of-the-art technology solutions for challenging applications in oil & gas to improve operational efficiency, lower costs, and emissions, and maximize well productivity. You will need to be creative, dynamic, passionate, and data-driven with the ability to effectively communicate and influence the internal teams and/or customers to deliver best-in-class solutions. This is a high visibility position where the incumbent is expected to frequently interact with Technology, business leadership, and customers to formulate and plan technology delivery for electrical power systems applications.

  Essential duties & responsibilities:

  Under broad direction, leads and direct others overseeing the development and tracking of technical information needed for decision making in multiple projects

  Projects will be focused on hydraulic fracturing using electric power and/or other large-scale surface equipment technology for oilfield operations

  Actively involved in strategic direction for technology development and involved from concept development through commercial implementation

  Responsible for the system and major sub-system level design within integrated product team, including the implementation and design of heavy equipment, hardware, and software

  Develops and negotiates system level requirements and assist in financial analysis, ensures completion of technical and detailed product specifications, manages technical risks, and ensures product meets technical performance in a timely fashion

  Creates specifications, interface control documents, etc. These are common tasks and good written communications skills are a must

  Proactively collaborates with other personnel engaged in equipment design, maintenance, and operation to ensure safe, reliable deployment of high-performance solutions meeting customer requirements

  Interacts closely with suppliers to ensure performance, reliability and quality of components and subsystems

  Advises on the development and monitoring of internal and external interface compatibility of the system and subsystems using an open systems approach. Establishes baselines and configuration controls for multiple projects

  Works “hands-on” with the relevant equipment and systems. This may be in the form of lab testing, full-scale testing, or field testing

  Travel to active well sites, customer offices, vendor offices, training/conference venues, and other Halliburton offices is required. This is typically 10-15% of available time. Travel for system deployment support may encompass weekends and holidays

  Education, experience, and knowledge:

  A bachelor’s degree in engineering with electrical preferred since the group deals only with electrical systems. However, other engineering degrees (e.g., mechanical, computer, chemical) will be considered with relevant experience. A master’s degree is preferred

  Seven to Ten years of experience in the oil and gas industry or other industries such as mining, industrial, chemical plants, and/or heavy equipment design is required

  Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and diagrams, electrical schematics, piping, and instrument drawings (P&IDs), flow charts and cause and effect diagrams

  Demonstrated skills in project management across functional groups, centers, and organizations, including creating projects in Enterprise Program Management tools (Microsoft Project, SAP) is of benefit

  Experience managing projects charge outs, projects costs, and managing capital assets is desired, but not required

  Experience in interfacing closely with suppliers and/or customers on requirements, schedules, delivery costs/pricing and performance is important

  Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher-level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available from the Principal Systems Engineer, Advisor Systems Engineer up to the Senior Advisor Systems Engineer
