  The Protected Communication Systems (PCS) Team in Largo, FL is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer in a role committed to creating creative and cost-effective solutions for our ground and airborne systems.

  As part of Collins Mission Systems, we specialize in developing advanced communication systems, ground and flight computers, sensors, cyber and software solutions, as well as providing integration of Mission Systems. As part of the PCS Department, the Systems Engineering department supports a variety of communications systems including Secure Switching Networks, SATCOM, and networking for ground based, ship, submarine, and airborne platforms.

  This position is eligible for relocation assistance.

  Responsibilities: • Aiding in the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation • Supporting lab activities including definition, setup, configuration management, and testing • Defining Modeling, Hardware, and Software Interfaces • Integration of Solutions within their target environment • Executing Integration, Dry Run, and Formal Qualification Testing • Documenting minor changes in systems or processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness • Defining and setting objectives for area of responsibility • Working autonomously with limited supervision • Communicating with team members within and outside of team • Explaining policies, practices, and procedures within the organization • Influencing decision-makers with recommended courses of action • Analyzing and documenting system behaviors • Supporting system trade studies, requirements analysis, allocation to subsystems

  Qualifications/Experience Needed: • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience • Proficient in tooling to include CAMEO, Rhapsody, Microsoft products, or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.) • Strong integration and test knowledge including test procedures, test execution, and test reporting • Experience in Virtual Machine design and deployment • Experience in Audio and Voice communication applications and systems • Must be able to obtain Top Secret Security Clearance within 1 year of start date

  Security Clearance: • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

  Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Survivable Mobile Command Center architectures and operations • Ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams of design professionals including electrical, mechanical, software, test, logistics and other System engineers. • Good communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and ability to effectively communicate • Systems support to software application development • Systems support to hardware development • System or application integration • Experience in Computer Networking for ground based, ship, submarine, or airborne platforms • Experience in Communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, AEHF, or V/UHF • Experience in Scripting • Must be able to obtain SCI Security Clearance within 1 year of start date

  Employee Referral Eligible

  The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

  This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
