F5 Engineer

GDIT is seeking a talented and innovative F5 Engineer on our USCENTCOM Information Technology Services (CITS) contract.

The F5 Engineer should be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

● Provide F5 engineering support for network and datacenter administration and support tasks, including analyzing, constructing, documenting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting F5 Virtual appliances, and the Traffic Management Operating System (TMOS)

● Manage F5 load balancers, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of critical applications and services

● Design and implement complex F5 configurations

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, implement, and troubleshoot F5 solutions for large-scale projects, contributing to seamless deployment and integration within multi-tiered architectures

● Conducted performance analysis and tuning of F5 devices in order to optimize traffic management and application delivery

● Implement security policies on F5 platforms, including Web Application Firewall (WAF) configurations and DDoS protection, mitigating risks and fortifying the overall network infrastructure.

● Configure hardware devices and software settings to optimize network performance.

● Work closely with development teams to ensure smooth deployment of their applications.

● Ensure high availability of critical services through automated failover techniques.

● Review problems to understand the root causes of issues and ensure proper fixes are implemented.

● Provide high level expertise to multiple projects and tasks.

● Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned

● Participate in special projects as required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

EDUCATION:

● Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, OR equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.

EXPERIENCE:

● Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience.

● Required Technical Skills: F5, Networking, Linux.

● Required Skills and Abilities: 300 level F5 certifications.

CLEARANCE:

● Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI

● US Citizenship Required.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Possess flexibility to operate in a highly dynamic environment while ensuring a high level of operational effectiveness. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills.
