Job Description:

GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer supporting U.S. Army Europe as a member of our EMITS program team.

HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

The Systems Engineer works with a team of Administrators, Engineers and Architects to build server and application architectures and the administrative operation and maintenance of server hardware and software in a virtual data center.

Maintains system security and establishes practices and procedures, monitors usage statistics and logs, monitors.

Develops baseline configurations and directs modification of configuration settings. Troubleshoots system related problems.

Provides team leadership and guidance to less experienced administrators.

Remains current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applications.

Recommends future direction or projects to management.

Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Security Clearance Required: Secret Level Security Clearance with SSBI/T5 clearance

Education: Bachelors Degree

Experience: 8+ years of related Systems Engineering experience

Candidate must be able to meet German TESA requirements

Certifications: Candidate must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification on Day 1; Candidate must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire

Skills and Expertise: Active Directory (ADUC, ADSS, ADDT Federation Services); Certificates (all aspects of certificate management)

Knowledge and experience with : DoD systems hardening (STIG, ACAS); Windows Operating Systems; Working in a virtualized server environment; Server backup experience (snapshot, full, differential, incremental, retention policies); Microsoft server applications (i.e. Exchange, SharePoint); Powershell scripting

Skillsets : Excellent communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through; Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience; Can create effective and clear documentation (EIP, Build Guides, TTP, etc.); Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work

Must be able to obtain German TESA

The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
