  Systems and Safety Engineer Requisition

  ManTech is searching for candidates for a full-time Systems Engineer to support Missile Defense Agency maritime acquisition and operations. Candidate will support the ManTech office located in Huntsville, AL. The position supports the Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX) Mission Integration (MI) prime contract.

  Responsibilities, Duties, and Description

  Participate in technology evaluation and reengineering teams to support strategy-definition and continuous process improvement activities.

  Manage and maintain Risk and Opportunity Management Program.

  Develop and present Engineering Change Proposals.

  Generate, evaluate, and update the System Safety documentation (e.g., System Safety Management Plan (SSMP) and Programmatic Environmental Safety and Health Evaluations (PESHE), Hazardous Materials Management Plans (HMMPs) and Incident Reporting) IAW contractual requirements and federal and local laws, and determine compliance with applicable DoD and MDA requirements.

  Draft and coordinate the approval of safety related Contract Deliverable products, such as MDA Core Metrics, Safety Assessment Reports (SARs), and Work Hazard risk assessments for all related documentation (including, Notice of Deviation or Exception to Policy) packages.

  Minimum Qualifications

  Min Experience: 5 years of experience in relevant fields (systems engineering or safety related field)

  Experience interfacing with computer-based database and schedule tools

  Experience with MS Office tools such as Project, Visio, Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint and PowerPoint as well as Adobe Acrobat is required

  Some travel required (10%)

  Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to present information in virtual and in-person environments

  Desired Qualifications

  Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or other scientific or technical disciplines preferred

  Experience with DOD or MDA system safety related documents such as MDA-QS-001 Mission Assurance Provisions Rev. C, MIL-STD-882E, and maritime safety requirements

  Experience modifying AutoCAD drawings

  DoD 8140/8570 Workforce Improvement Program Certifications/Experience (Security+, CISSP, CCNA, etc)

  Security Requirements:

  US Citizen, and a US Secret ClearancePhysical Requirements:

  Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  Must be able to walk 10 flights of stairs

  Must be able to climb ladders

  Must be able to go through hatches & watertight door ways

  Must be able to reach overhead

  Must be able to work in elevated workspaces

  Must have no fear of heights
