Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and resourceful Systems Administrator to manage and maintain our organization's IT systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure that all systems operate efficiently, securely, and reliably while supporting end-users and working closely with the IT team. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to managing IT resources and implementing best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and applications to ensure system reliability and performance.

Monitor system performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems.

Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies within systems such as Active Directory.

Perform routine maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, backups, and system upgrades.

Ensure system security through firewalls, access controls, antivirus, and intrusion detection measures.

Develop and maintain system documentation, including procedures, configurations, and incident logs.

Plan and execute system upgrades and infrastructure improvements to meet organizational needs.

Provide technical support to end-users, resolving escalated issues in a timely manner.

Manage virtualization environments, including VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms.

Collaborate with other IT staff to optimize and integrate systems and technologies.

Conduct capacity planning and recommend enhancements to ensure scalability and future growth.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar IT role.

Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and system management tools.

Experience with enterprise-level applications such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Proficiency in backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Strong understanding of network concepts, including LAN/WAN, VLANs, and VPNs.

Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills:

Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or CompTIA Server+.

Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for task automation.

Familiarity with database administration and tools.

Knowledge of ITIL practices and processes.

Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, SolarWinds, or Zabbix.
