The individual must be capable ofanswering phones in a courteous and patient manner, as well as provideeffective telephone switchboard and other departmental services. Operatorswork independently in a small office like a call center environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:Receive and route calls to correct departments/servicesMust learn the internal intranet systems and VA phone protocolsFollows all safety rules and regulationsRoute emergency calls appropriately based on the Standard Operation ProceduremanualPerforms all job tasks listed in Statement of WorkAvailable to backfill hours if colleagues are sick, on vacation or out basedon other emergenciesAbility to communicate and work cooperatively with other Switchboardoperators, Switchboard supervisor, and Hospital staffAdditional Operator duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilities OR explain the supervisoryrequirement hereQualifications
