Job Purpose
The Sustainability Intern will support the Global Sustainability team as we seek to move quickly along the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) maturity curve. The intern will report to the Global Sustainability Manager and work closely with the Senior Director of Global Sustainability. The intern will be exposed to the full array of ESG topics, including supporting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts as needed.
Duration
The internship duration will last the summer of 2024, commencing in May 2024 with completion in August 2024. Hours will be flexible to accommodate school and schedules but on average, approximately 20-30 hours a week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with research specifically benchmarking, trends and data around climate, energy and water efficiency, waste and ESG topics as neededSupport the sustainability data collection effort including:Update and expand the top-customer ESG commitment overviewProject management tasks, including for third party sustainability assessments such as EcoVadisDraft PowerPoint Slides as requestedDraft articles for the "Stories Worth Sharing" and "People Powering Sustainability at EnerSys" website page; draft social mediaSupport the DEI team as neededGeneral support for the day-to-day efforts of the sustainability team as needed
Qualifications
Basic QualificationsCandidate shouldbe a graduate student or enrolled in undergraduate program.The candidate should have an outstanding academic record, excellent organizational, interpersonal communication and written skills, strong quantitative and computer skills.Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with ESG concepts and frameworksMicrosoft OfficeSuperior writing skillsAbility to work both as an individual and as part of a teamMulti-cultural sensibilitiesOrganized and efficient worker; ability to keep track of multiple projects and tasksStrong attention to detailExperience with community outreach programs and student organizationsExperience with event planning and meeting facilitation
