JOB DESCRIPTION:
Audubon is currently seeking a Survey Technician Lead - Party Chief tojoin our team.This role will be working in various states including butnot limited to the following: TX, OK, PA, MO, KS, LA, ND, SD & CO. TheSurvey Technician Lead - Party Chief reports to the Survey & MappingManager and Operations Manager. The Survey Technician Lead - Party Chiefleads the work of a party engaged in surveying.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Areas of Responsibility will include:
Keeps Operations Manager and applicable Project Manager apprised ofdaily survey activities.Works with the company\'s Registered Land Surveyor or SubcontractorRegistered Land Surveyor as needed to provide necessary data andinformation on projects where the client requires certified plats ordrawings.Keeps in close contact with the applicable project manager to assurea full understanding of the scope of services of projects.Downloads data collected daily and transmits the data files.Is prepared daily to assist clients in the field including theappropriate attire for field services. This includes but is notlimited to your vehicle, steel toed boots, fire resistant clothing,hard hat, safety goggles, gloves, and earplugs.Demonstrates the ability to lead survey crew, operate GPS,conventional total station, data collectors, and other surveyingequipment is required.Has a full understanding of the scope of services of each job beforemobilizing to the job site to ensure that you have all the necessarysupplies, equipment and electronic data/information to complete thejob.Responsible for submitting time sheets and expense reports to theBusiness Manager weekly for all members of the survey crew. Thisincludes submitting photographs of receipts being submitting forreimbursement.The Party Chief is responsible for obtaining the appropriate jobnumber to be listed on time sheets and expense reports.Responsible for contacting the Survey and Mapping Manager totroubleshoot any technical difficulties the survey crew encounters.Responsible for notifying the Operations Manager immediately if anyequipment sustains damage or is not working properly.Serves as a mentor, training new Survey Technicians on an as neededbasis.Attends kick-off meetings with the Survey Manager and clients asneeded.Performs and leads survey crews for various surveying services,including but not limited to preliminary surveys, constructionstaking, as-built surveys, depth of cover surveys, topographicsurveys, re-route surveys, crossings surveys, ILI tracking, AGMplacement, anomaly staking, and repair documentation and tanksurveys/measurements.Confirms with the Project Manager that all data has been receivedand meets client\'s needs and scope of services prior todemobilizing from any job site.EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,skill, and/or ability required for the position:
Minimum of a High School diploma or general education degree (GED).Completion of land surveying and land law coursework desirable.Requires at least 2+ years of relevant experience performing varioustypes of preliminary surveys, construction staking, as-builtsurveys, depth of cover surveys, topographic surveys, ILI tracking,AGM placement, anomaly staking, and repair documentation and tanksurveys/measurements, 5+ years preferred.Knowledge requirements: working knowledge of survey equipment.Demonstrated ability to operate GPS, conventional total station,data collectors, and other surveying equip ent is required.Working knowledge and operational capabilities on Trimble, Sokkia,RD Locators, Pin Locators units.A valid driver\'s license and clean driving record is required forthis position.Knowledge and experience with ESRI ArcMap 9.x, AutoCAD, Pathfinder,and Carlson desirable.Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
