Job Summary: The Surgical Technologist handlesinstruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgicalprocedure. Has an understanding of the procedure being performed. Hasthe necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient careduring the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil formaintenance of the sterile field. He/she will perform other relatedduties as needed to maintain department cost containment, efficiency, aswell as quality performance. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCEDESCRIPTION: Is competent in role as a Surgical Technologist anddisplays knowledge and ability to independently perform roles and tasksrelated to the field of surgical technology. A minimum of one to twoyears of work experience as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High school diploma or equivalent is required.Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program is required.LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic LifeSupport for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalentis required within 90 days of hire. Certification as a SurgicalTechnologist is preferred.
