You will partner with Sourcing, Manufacturing, Logistics and Engineering Functions and the Finance Organization to maintain a well-controlled environment producing accurate external financial statements in compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). Additionally, this role provides accounting and technical guidance to the supply chain business partners, evaluates business transactions against changing accounting and regulatory rules, and supports our supply chain financial reporting processes. This role is uniquely positioned to gain perspective on the processes and decisions supporting Client complex supply chain and resulting market presence. Enablers for success in this role include the ability to work proactively, demonstrate agility, research complex transactions and determine appropriate accounting, have a high attention to detail and accuracy, a commitment to outstanding results, and the ability to communicate and partner effectively across multiple functions and levels in the organization.Key accountabilities:Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership* Provide accounting expertise and business partnership across the Pet Segment Supply Chain organization. Focus areas include but are not limited to inventory (including LIFO), supplier financing, leases, fixed assets, and cost accounting.* Collaborate with other Pet functions to improve the processes that interact with accounting and improve results through strong relationships.* Communicate with senior leadership to drive the accuracy of financial results, functional excellence, and development of accounting and controls capabilities throughout the organization.* Build functional excellence in accounting capability across the Supply Chain Organization at Pet and ensure balance between GAO strategy and business needs.Accounting & Controls Excellence* Follow and comply with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and current financial legislation for financial results and ultimate financial statement preparation.* Maintain and oversee all accounting procedures, controls and processes.
