  This is a Hybrid role, and must sit in Davidson, NC at least three days a week.

  Job Summary:

  This role has a dual responsibility of driving supplier diversity and sustainability programs. The role is responsible for developing and executing strategies, processes, and policies in alignment with Trane Technologies' goals. This individual will work closely with internal stakeholders to develop and execute our Supplier Sustainability & Diversity improvement plans. The leader will work closely with procurement, engineering and internal sustainability organizations to identify opportunities across our supply chain for sustainability improvements. The leader will also actively scan the external market for any new sustainability developments or focus areas that we need to incorporate in our programs. This role will work closely with the procurement teams to develop year over year supplier diversity goals, provide leads on diverse supply-base to the category teams, research externally for any new developments or new supply base and work hand-in-hand with procurement teams to drive progress.

  Additionally, the role is proactive in identifying potential new business ventures with sustainable and diverse suppliers, streamlining processes, and discovering cost-saving opportunities. As a subject matter expert in Supply Chain Sustainability, this position oversees all external reporting, responds to social responsibility surveys, and manages all facets of sustainable sourcing. Lastly, the role is responsible for establishing policies and reporting mechanisms that yield positive outcomes in the realms of inclusion, diversity, sustainability, and community support for the company.

  Responsibilities:

  Directly or Through Others:

  • Develop internal and supplier facing policies in close collaboration with key partners

  • Be the eyes / ears for the company to any new regulatory changes and social agenda externally and communicate internally for any program refresh

  • Represent Trane Technologies in key external forums and share learnings internally

  • Build and develop a world class team (directly and indirectly), ensuring professional development and training to enhance competencies and skill sets

  • Responsible for relevant diversity and sustainability KPI’s, regular updates and communication to the senior leadership.

  • Provide leadership across all phases of the sourcing and procurement process enabling maximum results for inclusion & sustainability

  • Direct and ensure successful compliance of all regulatory activities associated with Supplier Sustainability & Diversity including federal, state, and local reporting requirements, as well as other contractual commitments for reporting

  • Manage and control the Supplier Sustainability & Diversity programs budget

  Supplier Sustainability:

  • Work closely with the category, engineering and sustainability teams to understand the current state (baseline), challenges and opportunities and collaboratively develop a roadmap for progress

  • Lead Supplier Sustainability program with focus on improving Environmental, Social & Governance issues. This includes measuring, tracking, and improving our supplier collaboration partnership to achieve our sustainability goals and objectives within the areas of Environmental, Social & Governance issues

  • Responsible for the program with visibility to appropriate leadership and engagement at all levels of organization to drive progress

  • Improve upon our Supplier Sustainability toolkit that improves our relationship and provides our key partners with tools, templates, and strategies to improve their own sustainability programs

  • Lead outreach activities inside and external to the organization to advocate for Sustainability program

  • Gather industry benchmarks to improve and enhance Supplier Sustainability strategy

  • Standardize the measurement and reporting metrics and assess process effectiveness. Track tier 1 and tier 2 Sustainability metrics & targets to meet government and commercial requirements

  Supplier Diversity:

  • Work closely with the category teams to understand the current state (baseline), challenges and opportunities and collaboratively develop a roadmap for progress

  • Identify, implement, and execute a world class Supply Diversity plan supporting a diverse supplier base with a goal of achieving top quartile performance on Supplier Diversity spend and commercial partnerships

  • Assure the inclusion of small, minority, women and veteran-owned businesses in the sourcing and procurement financial planning cycles, with respect to requests for proposals, requests for information, multi-tier inclusion, and contract awards, supporting the Sourcing Policies and Procedures

  • Implement Best Practice Supplier Diversity Initiatives including executive endorsement, outreach activities, certification support, multi-tier programming, recognition, accountability, reporting and tracking, training, and procurement processes

  • Measure and track inclusion performance and results within each spend category and each business

  • Monitor strategy implementation and contract compliance with respect to Supplier Diversity initiatives

  • Hold leadership and advisory roles in business organizations, local, regionally, and nationally, supporting the development and utilization of companies owned by women and minorities

  • Collaborate and communicate with Sourcing Leaders, & internal stakeholders to enhance business opportunities for small, minority and women-owned companies

  • Drive cost savings

  Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • Experience with Supplier Sustainability or Supplier Diversity Programs, best practices, and programs

  • Engaging and passionate leader who wants to be part of making a difference and positively impacting the culture at Trane Technologies in support of diversity and sustainability

  • Sourcing Experience preferred

  • Strong program management experience

  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects/tasks, prioritize and act with sense of urgency

  • Detail oriented and organized

  • Excellent analytical capability; capable of both performing and coaching the evaluation, enhancing, and driving continuous improvements to complex business processes

  • Passion and understanding of the business reasons for sustainability, diversity, and inclusion

  • Change Leadership – ability to interface and influence at all levels of the organization

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including excellent computer & presentation skills

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with dynamic ability to motivate sourcing professionals, executives, members of the community and internal clients

  • Ability to work with and manage confidential information

  • Ability to travel expected (25% or less)

  • Practical Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle challenges in data projects and operational workflows.

  • Communication and Training: Excellent communication skills, capable of providing training and clearly articulating data product requirements and designs.

  • Strategic Planning: Ability to contribute to broader business strategies, ensuring data analytics aligns with organizational goals and operational efficiency.

  Base Pay Range: $140,000-$200,000. Total compensation will include an incentive plan.
