About Supplier Performance Engineer

Based in our Houston, TX location, you will be responsible for guaranteeing the quality of all mechanical and electrical materials coming into our gas process analyzers manufacturing location as well as work across a highly matrixed organization to influence global sites and suppliers.   In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  Maintain a safe work environment and identify opportunities for safety improvements.

  Plan coordinate, and lead supplier evaluation and approval activities.

  Initially qualify or disqualify suppliers utilizing the PPAP/APQP processes.

  Deliver results as measured by key metrics, such as DPPM (defective parts per million) and SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request).

  Develop positive relationships with suppliers and work closely with the Supply Chain Team to manage, implement, and track supplier/engineering, design changes, capacity studies, and New Product Introductions.

  Develop quality plans, inspection plans, and material incoming verification methods.

  Support operations in troubleshooting and resolving issues.

  Execute processes to quarantine, review, and disposition nonconforming to ensure material is available for production within 24 hours.

  Actively participate in initiatives to ensure timely and effective supplier quality improvements.

  Support the resolution of customer and internal product quality issues as they relate to supplied components.

  Perform and coordinate supplier audits (schedule, complete the ESAC checklist, and work with the supplier for follow-up corrective actions)

  Legal authorization to work in the United States.

  For This Role, You Will Need:

  Bachelor’s degree

  5 years of functional experience

  Demonstrated use of Quality Tools, Lean Six Sigma tools and processes.

  Knowledge of statistics and application of statistical methods.

  Experience with Root Cause Analysis tools.

  Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  Experience in Quality Systems a plus: PPAP/APQP processes

  Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at the management level; Proven results in meeting customer requirements and expectations; Ability to define and execute a project using project management techniques.

  ISO 9001 knowledge

  Experience performing supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement.
