Summary As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding. Serves as the branch manager for the ATC Voice Communication Branch. Responsibilities The branch provides high quality test and evaluation services and subject matter expertise for various areas of ATC voice communications programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, supervising a staff of engineers, mathematicians, and high technical employees responsible for the development of Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs), Operational Test (OT) plans, procedures and reports; development of review comments for Developmental Test (DT) plans, procedures, and reports; review of prime development contractor products; witnessing of DT activities; and conduct of OT activities; responsible for reviewing, processing, and replying to actions in a timely manner and ensuring that the work with other FAA management, peers, customers, and guests is conducted efficiently. Provide guidance for employees in the areas of work and career enhancements; work with FAA employees on human resources-related issues, including time and attendance, personnel matters, scheduling work, Voluntary Leave Transfer Program (VLTP), and telecommuting agreements; manage leave requests and verify Labor Distribution through CASTLE; approve time and attendance after verification and chair regularly schedule staff meetings for branch. Typically directs the work of subordinate employees and/or managers for more than one organizational unit/program/project within a major subdivision. Professional registration or licensure -- Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT)1 , or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration.
