Responsibilities WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Supervisory Child Support Program Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Proposes, develops, and manages child support program evaluation and research. Provides leadership to build policy and program-relevant research and evaluation evidence to identify strategies for child support program improvement as well as identify and synthesize existing evidence. Promotes adoption of promising and evidence-based child support practices in the child support field and among child support partners. Identifies, develops, analyzes, implements, and evaluates new policies and procedures to improve the child support program. Develops a comprehensive/detailed technical assistance plan, goals, objectives and actions, based on the findings and results from grants, programmatic experience and research in coordination with high-level officials and representatives from various groups and organizations across the nation to strengthen family relationship through the child support enforcement program. Reviews and develops a plan for Federal/State/Tribal/local collaboration to improve program effectiveness; develops options for involving stakeholders' expertise; and model programmatic trends and successful results for potential replication and adoption. Develops and establishes collaborative relationships with other Federal agencies carrying out programs interrelated with child support enforcement and the stakeholder communities of those programs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: A. Must have at least a bachelor's degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Must have a combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Must have at least four (4) years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. AND Additional Qualification Requirements: In addition to meeting the Basic Qualification Requirements candidates must also possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service that includes three (3) of the following: 1. Leading initiatives for a Federal, State, Tribal and/or Local Child Support Programs. 2. Administering, implementing, or evaluating technical support functions for a child support and/or social service grant program. 3. Assessing operational and financial needs of a program to address policy, planning and/or budget activities. 4. Collaborating with key officials of other Federal, State, Tribal and local agencies on policy or strategic development initiatives that improve child support and/or social service program practices.
