Summary This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Archives Specialist in the Holdings Security and Space Management Section of Accessioning, Basic Processing, and Holdings Security Branch, Textual Records Division. Responsibilities include coordinating the transfer of permanent Federal records into archival holdings, space management, including internal and external moves of records, and the full range of supervisory duties . Responsibilities As a SUPERVISORY ARCHIVES SPECIALIST, you will: Assist in the planning and implementation of ongoing records accessioning program in coordination with approved NARA records schedules created for all permanently valuable textual records from the Executive and Judicial Branches of the Federal Government. Oversee NARA physical space management and performing audits, including "Open Shelf' surveys to identify available space, HMS audits to verifying the accuracy of data, and creating holdings and space management reports. Plan, develop, and supervise holdings transfer operations for the achievement of agency's accessioning program. Work with the section chief, other branch supervisors, and the branch manager on setting and achieving organizational goals and ensures that each subordinate accomplishes a satisfactory amount and quality level of work in a timely manner. Requirements Conditions of Employment The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Leading teams to achieve archival accessioning, processing, holdings control, and space management goals.; AND Assessing archival space use for accessioning and processing purposes, regularly reporting on space management status, and making recommendations to support use efficiency.; AND Assisting in the development of policies and procedures for implementing effective archival accessioning, processing, holdings control, and space management. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
