Description:
Manages work activities of personnel to provide optimum patient care before, during, and immediately following procedures.
Communicates with physicians, other departments, and hospitals to coordinate daily Cath lab and recovery schedule efficiently.
Coordinates with department secretary regarding scheduling of cardiovascular procedures.
Supervises the maintenance of equipment, catheterization supplies and instruments, and inventory control. Maintains all aspects of patient safety.
Evaluating and planning to meet Cath lab and Recovery needs and goals.
Assists with the budget process and controlling expenses.
Develop, implement, interpret, and administer approved Cath lab and Recovery objectives, policies and procedures. Interprets hospital and Cath lab policies and procedures to employees, patients of diverse ages, and physicians.
Prepares monthly staffing schedule and adjusts as needed for vacations, LOA, illnesses, etc.
Computes timecards and records attendance bi-weekly in Kronos
Participates in personnel actions: interviewing, staff retention, motivation, performance appraisals, discipline, grievances, training, and work schedules. Maintains confidentiality .
Performs related work as required.
Assists in planning monthly department meetings and chairs nurse or tech meetings.
Participates on committees as assigned.
Possession of a current license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Iowa
A minimum of 2 years critical care nursing experience
Two- (2) years Cath Lab experience required.
Bachelor’s Degree or in the process of obtaining.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
ACLS required
Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
