　　Position

　　We are looking for a UX Summer Intern. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) temporary position that works out of WCF's Sandy, Utah headquarters. Under the direction of the UX manager, the summer UX intern will work as a member of the UX team in the IT Department performing both research and design functions to accomplish business and technology objectives.

　　This intern will join a cross-functional cohort of summer interns who will learn alongside each other from each of our departments to understand insurance from many different angles. There will be weekly paid training provided as part of the intern cohort.

　　After the internship, there is a possibility of a part-time position as an apprentice. We offer full benefits starting at 20 hours per week after the internship. Interns will finish with training and experience needed to have an exciting career in the stable field of insurance.

　　Responsibilities

　　The UX team is responsible for research and design functions within the applications development group. They participate in requirements gathering, champion user needs, conduct user interviews and usability tests, collaborate on wireframing, outline interactions, and provide high-fidelity designs and prototypes. The UX team also participates in the design system team.

　　The UX Summer Intern will be expected to engage with cross-functional teams and with various users and customers. They should work to gain an understanding of whatever roles they are assigned and strive to become a contributor within those roles. Based on current IT Department policy, interns may work a hybrid schedule spending time in our Sandy office with the possibility of some remote work days.

　　Qualifications

　　The most qualified candidates will:

　　Present a portfolio of UX work (examples of paid work or personal / school project work)Have an expectation to enter a career in UX (product design / UX research) or product managementDemonstrate a natural curiosity and willingness to learn and accept feedbackShow a commitment to teamwork and group successThe internship will begin in June and will conclude in August/September, unless other arrangements are made. The UX intern selected for the program will be paid $18/hour and the dress is business casual.
