TIME COMMITMENT: JUNE 3 - AUGUST 23, 2024 Thisfull-time seasonal position includes one week of staff training (June3-7), eleven weeks of summer camp (June 10-August 23), and an optionalthree days of camp clean up (August 26-28). Educators must be availablefrom 8:00am-4:00 pm Monday-Friday, as camps run from 8:30am-3:30pm onweekdays. Opportunities for planning and prep will be built into theweekly schedule. RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibility of thisposition is the planning and delivery of experiential nature programsfor 4-13 year old campers. Environmental educators are responsible forthe physical and emotional well-being of the children in their care andare expected to facilitate a welcoming environment that is safe,inclusive, and fun for all participants. Additional responsibilitiesinclude, but are not limited to: -Independently supervise a small groupof children during their camp session. -Design and lead hands-onactivities that take into account camper ages, interests, and abilities.-Assess group dynamics and apply appropriate behavior managementtechniques. -Collaborate with other staff and help create a cohesivecamp community. -Maintain a reliable attendance record throughout thesummer. Ideal candidates will be able to manage a full-time weeklyschedule, work well in a team environment, communicate effectively withothers, and represent ALNC in a professional manner. Flexibility,initiative, the ability to problem solve, and a sense of humor are amust. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: -At least 18 yearsof age and have completed high school or its equivalent. -Vaccinatedagainst COVID-19. -Certified in First Aid/CPR (training will be providedfor those who need it). -Must pass a child care background check andfingerprint screen. -Experience working with and supporting youthsocially, emotionally, and behaviorally, preferably in small groupsettings. -Interest in developing and leading a variety of enrichingcamp activities. -Ability to develop rapport with campers of all agesand backgrounds. -Comfortable making quick decisions in response tochanging circumstances. -Ability to maintain sight and sound supervisionof campers at all times. -Willingness to work outside in all summerweather conditions. -Preferred: clean driving record and willingness todrive a 15 passenger van. ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Other:Complete an online application using this link:https://forms.gle/E9DoJAWkE1VrdRqJ9.
