We'll give you hand-on projects and the chance to create an immediate impact.WHAT IT'S LIKE: Have you ever wanted to spend the day understanding the mind of an adversary ? How about actively look for critical cybersecurity flaws ? Investigate and validate reports with external security researchers ? All of this is a core function of the Offensive Security team, including actively attempting to test and subvert cybersecurity controls. Our team actively looks for cybersecurity vulnerabilities and weaknesses that we can exploit to demonstrate potential issues to the company. WHAT YOU'LL DO You'll sit with some of our security engineers, learning how they think and how they approach trying to break into the company from the outside. This will include covering skills necessary, familiarity with some of the toolset used, and shadowing the engineers as they work. There will also be opportunities to get hands on with some of the tools to validate issues, fixes, and even do some testing on your own ! KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Shadow engineers as they go through their day to day testing and knowledge Learn basics of common toolsets used in the role Demonstrate learnings of how tools operate and should function Validate fixes or issues that are submitted to the team WHAT IT TAKES: Passion for cybersecurity Ability to investigate, analyze, and digest different methods across multiple platforms and processes ( e.g. develop and run a python script using snippets or information gathered from multiple sources ) Genuine curiosity about the controls that are in place, the tools we have preventing us from exploiting things, and creative ways approaching getting around them Familiarity with cybersecurity / IT assets required Computer Science / IT background preferred Ability to script in language of choice preferred At least 18 years of age Legally authorized to work in the United States High School Diploma or GED Must be actively enrolled in a degree program or graduated with the last year Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for Internships Employers does not sponsor work visas for this position. Note that this also applies to individuals who are students of F-1 status who desire sponsorship after they complete their education. Relocation reimbursement may be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location. Intern wages range from $20/hour to $40/hour.
