We have an immediate need for a Structural Engineer to join our Transportation and Infrastructure Teaming our Pittsburgh, PA office or any STV Pennsylvania office. This position will assist in the design and analysis of highway, rail and pedestrian bridges and associated structures. Responsibilities Include:Perform design and analysis of bridges and related structures.Prepare bridge and structure design plans and layouts requiring standard and advanced techniques and proceduresSupport structural design on selected projects and lead assigned tasks as appropriate or lead a team of junior and mid-level engineers on larger technical project assignments.Perform quality control reviews of the design work performed by others.Utilize various software for plan preparation and design including Microstation, Microsoft Office, PennDOT LRFD programs, such as STLRFD, PSLRFD, BPLRFD, BXLRFD, Vbent, CSI Bridge, etc.Perform cost estimating and calculate and check quantities.Assist senior staff in project delivery to ensure projects meet or exceed project schedules and budgets.Provide direction by mentoring and motivating junior staff.Work with managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and project delivery plans. Be open to learn and assist in the preparation of technical and cost proposals for clients.Proactively drive safety and ensure that health and safety practices are maintained.Develop project deliverables while maintaining quality.Effectively communicate project and/or assigned task progress and identify potential concerns or issues as early as possible.Participate in professional society meetings and committees.Qualifications Include:Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structure Engineering; Master's degree preferred, but not required.A minimum of 5 years of progressive design experience on bridge and structural design projects.Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.).Bridge and Structure Inspection Certification is a plus.Solid structural analysis and design skills with an understanding of related engineering disciplines needed to complete transportation and infrastructure projects.Task management skills and ability to plan and coordinate work efforts needed to meet deadlines are a plus.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to form effective relationships with staff and clients.Ability for limited travel and field work is required.
Compensation Range:$87,168.00 - $113,912.00
