　　AECOM Water is actively seeking a Structural Engineer to join our growing Chicago, IL office.

　　This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-level Structural Engineer, wanting to grow their career in the Water industry. Our team is currently designing the $300M expansion of a local water reclamation plant. This project involves the design of tunnels, conduits, tanks, and a control building. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 7 years’ structural design experience, EIT or PE certification, and a master’s degree in civil or structural engineering.

　　Job Description:

　　Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

　　Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

　　Works on detailed or routine structural engineering assignments involving hand calculations and relatively simple computer modeling tasks using structural programs.

　　Experience in technical writing of proposals and report

　　Performs fieldwork to review building condition and prepare field sketches. Occasional out-of-town traveling is necessary.

　　Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.

　　Identifies discrepancies in results.

　　Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

　　Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

　　Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.

　　Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

　　Qualifications

　　Minimum Requirements:

　　BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPreferred Qualifications:​​

　　Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural engineering

　　PE in Civil Engineering, Structural focus

　　Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software.

　　4-7 years’ experience

　　Technical experience related to structural design codes (IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE-07 etc.)

　　Capable of supporting multiple projects at a time and meeting project schedules

　　Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (CAD, STAAD, RISA, Revit, etc)

　　Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field

　　Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

　　Experience in water industry structural design

　　Additional Information

　　Offered rate of compensation (Illinois locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000.
