　　Job Summary

　　To receive, inspect, and verify all incoming supplies and equipment and delivers as appropriate.

　　Essential Job Functions

　　Fills storeroom requisitions and carries or delivers to requesting departments. Obtains authorized signatures for accepting supplies and deducts such items from computerized inventory system by keypunch input.

　　Maintains established inventory levels with aid of computerized reports and periodically takes physical count of stock on hand and reports any variances to the Materials Manager.

　　Stocks and maintains specified items in the General Storeroom in a clean and orderly manner. Notifies Materials Manager of usage fluctuations.

　　Examines materials for expiration dates, removes expired material from shelves and notifies the Stores & Purchasing Clerk.

　　Completes other reports periodically, listing such dates as shipment received, materials issued or requisitioned, equipment received, nutritional usage and back order reports.

　　Files and maintains Receiving Purchase Order file. Works along with Accounts Payable clerks to resolve any discrepancies on shipping documents.

　　Assists in taking inventory as required.

　　Makes minor repairs of items in stock and assembles minor equipment on occasion. Logs and tags all hospital equipment.

　　Makes pick-ups or special deliveries to off-site locations such as Pediatric Practices in Union/Essex counties. Act as back-up to the Mail Clerk Courier position.

　　Physical Demands

　　*Significant (more than 50%) portions of daily assignments involve exposure to dirt, odors, noise, or much work is performed with exposure to temperature/weather extremes. Working surfaces may be unlevel, slippery, or unstable.
