  Job Description Summary

  The University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School is one of the nation’s oldest and most distinguished law schools.   Reporting to the Associate Director of Stewardship and coordinating closely with colleagues on the Law School’s Development & Alumni Relations (“DAR”) team, the Stewardship Writer will assist in developing content and copy for ongoing DAR messaging to Law School alumni and development prospects. The Stewardship Writer prepares polished messaging ready for distribution to alumni and development prospects and provides administrative support for the Stewardship team. This position is part time (20 hours/week) and eligible for fully remote work.

  Job Description

  Responsibilities Include:

  Generate clear, concise and compelling acknowledgments, congratulatory letters, condolence letters and written communications on behalf of the Dean, the Vice Dean and the major gifts team.

  Assist in production of annual stewardship reports to be provided to the donors in the areas of scholarships, professorships, faculty research, book funds and other special programs as needed.

  Maintain, through the university database (Compass) and internal LDAR files, a stewardship database tracking law school funds, donors, and recipients to ensure successful stewardship.

  Create digital content for the Law School’s Donor wall as needed.

  Assist in other administrative tasks and writing assignments as required.

  Qualifications:

  Excellent writing and editing skills. Writing sample is required.

  Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.

  Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  Familiarity with complex databases and Microsoft Office applications.

  BA or BS preferred.

  2-3 years relevant experience.

  A cover letter is required with application materials.

  Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
