DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position is assigned to the Bureau of State Parks, State Park Regional Office # 2 and reports to the Assistant Regional Manager. As a State Park Intern, you will be provided with broad exposure to all aspects of state park operations and management. You will also assist regional staff in various projects while gaining experience in park operations, natural resources management and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) data gathering and input.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time internship lasting from 5/1/2024 through 8/30/2024.Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:Current full-time enrollment in a two-year degree, bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable majors:Parks and RecreationEnvironmental ScienceResource ManagementAn approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable.Freshman year completedGood academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university
Additional Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
