  DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a State Park Environmental Education Intern, you will assist park staff in various projects while gaining experience in Park Operations, Resource Management, Administration, and Environmental Education. You will engage with the visiting public through contacts both in the office and field and provide outstanding customer service to ensure a memorable visit. In addition, you will learn how staff participates in law enforcement activities using the Crimes Code, Vehicle Code, and Fish and Game laws within State Parks and make contacts with the public to ensure that State Park rules and regulations are upheld.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time internship that will last from 5/1/2024 through 8/30/2024.Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.Work days vary.Nights and weekends may be required.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.   QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:Current full-time enrollment in a two-year degree, bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable majors:Environmental ScienceOutdoor RecreationEducationFreshman year completed.Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher).An approved major course in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable.Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university.

  Additional Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
