  About the Indiana Department of Administration (IDOA):

  IDOA helps to ensure the smooth function of state government, finding efficient and effective solutions to government-wide needs.

  Salary Statement:

  The salary for this position traditionally starts at $34,216.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

  Role Overview:

  The State Information Center Counselor will be responsible for answering incoming calls for the 800-information line, located at the footer of in.gov, and providing information related to state services and assisting with guidance on the website as well as answering chats (real-time) and tickets (emails) that come through our Zendesk system. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of state regulations, programs, and services to provide accurate information. Documenting caller interactions and details of inquiries for record-keeping. Providing excellent customer service to ensure a positive caller experience, assisting with State Government Center “Walk-Ins” and preparing and mailing packets (i.e. visitor guides, etc.).

  A Day in the Life:

  The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  Compile information relative to the assigned program area.

  Coordinate correspondence for information requests.

  Organize and maintain current and historical files related to the program.

  Organize program reports, applications, and maintain consultative services.

  Maintain and organize program assets.

  Prepare all program related training materials.

  What You'll Need for Success:

  You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

  General knowledge of the program area.

  Basic knowledge of the rules and regulations pertaining to the assigned program area and its affects upon other agency operations.

  Ability to gather and compile program materials.

  Ability to communicate effectively.

  Ability to operate effectively in a group decision-making process.

  Tact in dealing with other agency personnel and the public.

  Basic knowledge of accounting principles.

  Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

  This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
