Impact the future of Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) as a senior technical writer supporting Career-Long Learning Curriculum (CLLC) development. Work with the program lead, process facilitators, subject matter experts, others, and side-by-side with the Center for Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Diving (CEODD) staff to create the next version of Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) for EOD and Navy Dive (ND) ratings. You will serve in this position located at the Naval Support Activity in Panama City Beach, FL. This position is contingent on contract award.
What you’ll do as a Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) / Career-Long Learning Curriculum (CLLC) Technical Writer:
Meet with customer and contractor personnel to discuss and review task requirements, performance, and deliverables.
Acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
Produce Navy technical publications, manuals, policies, instructions, and forms related to the EOD and ND rates and CEODD administrative requirements. Technical information will be provided by Subject Matter Experts as required.
Translate complex data into user-friendly text for print and electronic publications, such as technical journals, user and training manuals, government proposals, websites, and podcasts.
Format and submit official memorandums, letters, and instructions per the Navy Correspondence Manual.
Demonstrate proficiency in writing and editing formal correspondence.
Demonstrate an understanding and use of Navy terminology.
Develop digitally delivered forms, Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS), Job Qualification Requirements (JQR), Grading, and Testing and Student control forms.
Utilize virtual collaborative products using Microsoft Office Home suite of applications, Adobe products, and other common software.
May be called upon to assist in technical or business presentations in such meetings as business or customer needs require.
This position requires travel up to 10% of the time.
Required Qualifications:
An active Secret level security clearance, or an inactive Secret level security clearance within the last 2 years
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of technical writing experience, or 5 years of recent technical writing experience.
Experience supporting US Government clients.
Experience coordinating across multiple organizations.
Excellent verbal, presentation, writing, and customer service skills, as well as leadership skills including project/task management to accomplish contract requirements.
